Amazon FreeRTOS runs on a new device

The Renesas RX65N System on Chip now runs Amazon FreeRTOS. This allows it to use AWS IoT services such as AWS IoT Core and AWS IoT Greengrass.

Amazon EC2 High Memory Instances available in additional AWS Regions

AWS typically launches new capabilities in a small number of regions initially, and over time rolls that new capability out to other regions.

EC2 instances with 12TB RAM are now available in us-west-2 (Oregon), eu-west-1 (Ireland) and AWS GovCloud US West regions, and are certified for running SAP HANA based solutions

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)

Provides infrastructure layer compute capabilities, including both bare metal and virtual servers with various optimizations includins compute, memory, IO, and disk. Also supports accelerations options such as GPUs, FPGAs, Inferentia and Trainium.

Amazon Quicksight now supports:

  • maths operations
  • level aware aggregation operations
  • Athena Workgroup associations
  • a Presto VPC connector

When processing both batch and streaming jobs, AWS Glue 3.0 can now dynamically scale resources up and down based on the workload.

AWS Console supports Asia Pacific (Jakarta) region

The AWS Console Mobile Application is designed to support troubleshooting operations remotely. This announcement allows customers with resources in the Asia Pacific (Jakarta) region to access them via the AWS Console Mobile Application.

New language support for Catalan added to Amazon Lex

Amazon Lex is now able to automatically recognize spoken Catalan and convert it to text, then perform natural language understanding (NLU) to recognize the intent of the text.
